Luxembourg Franc

The Luxembourg franc was the currency of Luxembourg from 1854 to 2002, except from 1941 to 1944, when it was replaced by the German Reichsmark during the Nazi occupation. The Luxembourg franc was initially equal to the Belgian franc, and both currencies were part of the Latin Monetary Union until 1926. After that, the Luxembourg franc was still linked to the Belgian franc, but at a different rate. In 1999, the Luxembourg franc was replaced by the euro as the official currency, but the franc coins and banknotes remained in circulation until 2002. The Luxembourg franc was divided into 100 centimes, and its symbol was F or LUF

Some of the coins and banknotes that were issued by Luxembourg are:

Coins: 1, 5, 10, 20, and 50 centimes, and 1, 5, 10, 20, and 50 francs. The coins featured the coat of arms of Luxembourg, the Grand Duke, or the national motto.

Banknotes: 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 500, 1000, and 5000 francs. The banknotes depicted various historical figures, buildings, and landscapes of Luxembourg.
