On a hot day, there's nothing quite as refreshing as a bowl of beef pho. Today, let me show you how to make this delicious Vietnamese dish. 


1.Gather the ingredients:

- Ox tail, neck bones, and shank bones

- Ginger and onion (chargrilled)

- Rock sugar

- Fish sauce

- Salt

- Cinnamon, cardamom, fennel, star anise, and coriander seeds

- Beef round eye (thinly sliced)

- Lime, hoisin sauce, and sriracha (for garnish)


2.Prepare the bones:

- Place the ox tail, neck bones, and shank bones in a power bowl.

- Fill it with water and let it boil for 15 minutes.

- Drain the water to remove any scum that may have accumulated.This step helps to remove impurities without losing much flavor.

3.Simmer the bones:

- In a fresh pot of water, add back the ox tail, neck bones, and shank bones.

- Add chargrilled ginger, chargrilled onion, rock sugar, fish sauce, and salt to the pot.

- Add cinnamon, cardamom, fennel, star anise, and coriander seeds for spices.

- Simmer the mixture for three to four hours.If the water reduces too much during this time, add more water to the pot.

4.Prepare the garnishes:

- While the broth is simmering, thinly slice the beef round eye.

- Prepare garnishes such as lime wedges, hoisin sauce, and sriracha according to your preference.

5.Serve the beef pho:

- Once the broth is ready, strain it to remove any solids.

- In a bowl, place the thinly sliced beef round eye.

- Pour the hot broth over the beef to cook it.

- Serve the pho with your preferred garnishes like a squeeze of lime, hoisin sauce, and sriracha.
